Since January 3, 2017.
What are some key strengths that someone needs to have in order to succeed in your role?
Communication and multi-tasking. In this role, you interact with so many levels of the organization so being a good communicator is key to the success of this job. Understanding the needs of the group you are supporting is the most important thing because without that understanding / communication with your team, you cannot help meet the organization goals and needs.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
Interacting with the Gulf Coast team across all levels, getting to know everyone and learning about the organization. I learn something new every day. The team never dismisses a question I have about how something works around here or what a gadget does. The Gulf Coast team never fails to help me understand what / why we do what we do.
What are some of the challenges associated with your role?
With an organization this large it is hard to get everyone on the same page with new processes and procedures when they come out, which is why being a good communicator is so important.
What are some words of encouragement that you would give to a female looking to get into procurement?
Procurement has a way of pushing you, don’t be afraid to jump out of your comfort zone – you may be surprised at what new things you pickup.
