The Day-to-Day

  • Transport ready mix concrete to construction projects, company facilities, or customer sites in industrial and residential areas.
  • Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections, documenting as per DOT guidelines.
  • Load and unload materials; monitor vehicle gauges during operation.
  • Maintain daily mileage logs and follow all company safety policies and DOT regulations.
  • Adhere to dispatch instructions and applicable laws, ensuring high product quality.
  • Conduct minor equipment servicing; report major issues to supervisors.
  • Keep the vehicle clean and orderly.
  • Maintain regular, predictable attendance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Operational knowledge of mixer trucks and related equipment.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic math for record-keeping and project documents.
  • Competence in safely operating equipment under varied conditions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with high attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with securing heavy equipment and over-dimensional loads.
  • Professional interaction with customers, including collecting payments and resolving issues.
  • Proficiency in operating heavy equipment such as Ready Mix Trucks, Loaders, Backhoes, and Haul Trucks.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2 years of mixer truck driving experience preferred.

Skills You Need

  • Pass DOT physical, drug screening, and criminal background check; possess a valid DOT medical card.
  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols as per the Employee Handbook.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist others as needed.
  • Maintain a current CDL (Class A/B with air brake endorsement; hazmat and tanker endorsements may be required).
  • MVR must meet company and DOT standards.
  • Willingness to travel and work nights or weekends as needed.
  • Wear PPE in designated areas (e.g., hard hat, safety shoes, safety glasses) in compliance with OSHA/MSHA standards.
  • Ability to operate in varied weather and environmental conditions.
  • Safely climb, stoop, bend, lift extension chutes, sit for extended periods, and shift gears; exert 10-20 lbs. constantly, 25-50 lbs. frequently, and up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
