The Day-to-Day

  • Operate heavy equipment of various sizes and weights, safely and efficiently.
  • Follow direction of Foreperson as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or jobsite.
  • Perform minor servicing and maintenance of equipment; refer major problems to the supervisor.
  • Perform daily pre- and post-inspections with appropriate documentation.
  • Assist in training less-experienced employees on the proper operations, servicing, and repair of equipment to further their abilities.
  • Report any problems to the Foreperson, Superintendent, Safety Manager, or Human Resources Manager.

Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years in age or older.
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures, and all OSHA and/or MSHA regulations.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors.
  • Must maintain a current driver’s license that meets state requirements, i.e., CDL, Class A and/or B Driver with possible hazmat and tanker endorsements.
  • Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
  • Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA.

Skills You Need

In order to start immediately as an equipment operator at one of our sites or projects, you’ll need to have a high school diploma or equivalent, as well as 1-2 years of experience in operating heavy machinery.
