Our Gulf Coast Area locations offer a fully paid, 10-week college summer internship program where you’ll put your classroom education into practice with real-world experience at our asphalt, aggregate operations, and job sites across the Houston and Beaumont areas. The knowledge you gain here will help you build the foundation for your career in the construction industry and beyond.
Internship opportunities include positions in the areas of construction management, aggregate and asphalt production, accounting, human resources, communications, and more! This is more than just your average summer job – it’s an opportunity to work alongside experienced industry professionals and build your resume with meaningful experience as part of a Fortune 500 company and the largest building materials business in North America.
From day one, you’ll have the responsibility to lead projects and initiatives, and you’ll work closely with mentors across the business to begin building a lasting professional network.
What we’re looking for:
- College students (enrolled for least two completed semesters), 18+ years old.
- Preferably enrolled in a construction-related degree program (or other, depending on internship focus area).
What to expect:
- Learn practical skills while having the opportunity to specialize in a particular area of interest.
- Participate in industry and company-level safety and other training and events where you’ll have the opportunity to engage with leaders across our operations.
- Grow your professional network and gain important business skills for your future career.
- Prior Texas Materials interns are given strong consideration for full-time employment following completion of their degree program.

- Business and mileage reimbursement.
- Work equipment, including a laptop.
- Up to $18/hour.
